Review: The Opposite of Sex         [02:59]     #0142

DIRECTION: Don Roos
CAST: Christina Ricci, Martin Donovan, Lisa Kudrow, Lyle Lovett, Johnny Galecki, William Lee Scott, Ivan Sergei
bagger The first 10 funny minutes of sarcastic humor from the horny girl from Buffalo 66 and the Adams Family do not make this 108 minutes screening bearable. A few funny witty oneliners and for the rest a fistfull of boring fullscreen homosexuals. kolonel

Review: Ikinai         [10:55 ]     #0141

DIRECTION: Shimizu Hiroshi
good Produced under Takeshi Kitano's company Office Kitano, and directed by Kitano's assistent director this movie contains much of the same black humour as Kitano's movies, without the violence. It is a touching and thoughtfull look into several people who want to kill themselves and apply to go on a bustrip which will end in death so the insurance money will go to the ones they love and try to save. Wonderful. Joep

Review: The Big Swap         [10:52 ]     #0140

DIRECTION: Niall Johnson
Not good The kind of movie where only the enevitable will happen. From the word go it's clear how it's going to end. Five couples swapping their partners, so some discover how horrible the other person is or how bad they have it with their own partner. Although the film is dynamic and shows the ups en downs of the characters, no one is truly convincing, the viewer doesn't in any way feel compelled to any of the characters. A useless movie. Joep

mmmmm I don't normally like cartoons that much. This one however did manage to get my attention for allmost the whole thing. If the festival wouldn't have decided to show the last part in Dutch I could even say, wow what a great thing that was. Now I have to tell my mother it is safe to go there with my 5 year old nephew. Review: Plus que hier, moin que demain         [10:46 ]     #0138

DIRECTION: Laurent Achard
CAST: Martin Mihelich, Laetitia Legrix, Mireille Roussel, Pascal Cervo, Lily Boulogne
mmmmm This is a typical french movie. Take a small part of a family life and enhance it. Great how they succeeded in showing the small things such-as feelings, love and conflict which normally would stay unseen in such a big country. Paul
